What day is it? 12 strange ones since we closed.

Still processing the ramifications, as it’s all been abrupt & uncertain. But staying home is the safest and smartest thing we can do, for our team + our community.

But it’s really tough to not see so many you. Our journey has been fueled by so many amazing people that have supported us along the way. The relationships our team has formed over the years have continuously lifted us up to do what we do.  

As an independent shop, we don’t have much security on our side, and our operations rely on our day-to-day sales. Everybody on our team works super hard for a very modest income, and we love the opportunity to serve you and be part of the fabric of our neighborhood. Not being able to provide that while being stuck on pause really sucks. Only way to put it.

We’re not sure when we will get to safely open again, and what that will mean for our team when we do. But right now, we are missing the small talk, the couch hangs, the matchas with the oat milk, the New York Times crosswords, and the sense of human connection that we’re all craving right now. It all seems trivial at the moment, but so important at the same time. Feeling nostalgia for all the little stuff.

It’s difficult coming on here, hat in hand while everyone is dealing with their own disruption. But please consider supporting our team from home if you can. Everybody that works for us has a big ole heart and we hope that they can weather this storm while we figure out what’s next— this is all for our staff and with hopes of making up for our lack of payroll in the coming weeks.
