Refusing to Give Up: Stand with Mahmoud’s Family

My name is Fanny. I live in Switzerland, and for the past few months, I’ve been in daily contact with Mahmoud and his family, a young couple trapped in Gaza with their baby.

Mahmoud, his wife Iman, and their 20-month-old son Ameer are kind, dignified, courageous people doing everything they can to survive the unimaginable.

I came across Mahmoud by chance on social media. Everything changed when I started listening to their story. Once I understood what they were living through, I couldn’t look away.

I’ve come to know a gentle, calm man determined to protect his family. Their son Ameer was born just five days after the war began. Iman is an architect. This family once had so many dreams.

Today, they live in a severely damaged building, sharing space with several other displaced families. They lack the essentials: food, clean water, medicine, electricity… and above all, any sense of safety or future.

Iman recently lost seven members of her family in a bombing. The grief is enormous. And yet, they carry on every single day.

This fundraiser is here to support them in a concrete and immediate way: food (when they can find it), medicine, baby supplies… and also to be ready if a humanitarian or legal evacuation becomes possible.

I stay informed daily, in touch with trusted sources, and I regularly cross-check information with humanitarian contacts. I remain committed to full transparency and welcome any serious lead, no matter how small.

Je m’appelle Fanny. Je vis en Suisse, et depuis plusieurs mois, je suis en contact quotidien avec Mahmoud et sa famille, un jeune couple piégé à Gaza avec leur bébé.

Mahmoud, sa femme Iman et leur petit garçon de 20 mois, Ameer, sont des personnes courageuses, dignes, profondément humaines. Ils font tout ce qu’ils peuvent pour survivre à l’indicible.

J’ai croisé le chemin de Mahmoud par hasard, sur les réseaux sociaux. Tout a changé à partir du moment où j’ai commencé à écouter leur histoire. Une fois que j’ai compris ce qu’ils vivaient, je n’ai pas pu détourner le regard.

J’ai découvert un homme doux, calme, qui met toute son énergie à protéger sa famille. Leur fils Ameer est né cinq jours après le début de la guerre. Iman est architecte. Cette famille avait autrefois de nombreux rêves.

Aujourd’hui, ils vivent dans un bâtiment gravement endommagé, qu’ils partagent avec plusieurs autres familles déplacées. Ils manquent de tout : nourriture, eau potable, médicaments, électricité… et surtout, de sécurité et de perspective.

Iman a récemment perdu sept membres de sa famille dans un bombardement. Le deuil est immense. Et pourtant, ils continuent. Chaque jour.

Cette cagnotte vise à les soutenir de façon concrète et immédiate : pour l’alimentation (quand ils en trouvent), les soins, les besoins de leur bébé… et aussi pour pouvoir réagir rapidement si une opportunité d’évacuation humanitaire ou légale se présente.

Je m’informe quotidiennement, en lien avec des sources de confiance. Je vérifie chaque information avec soin, en restant entièrement transparente. Je suis également ouverte à toute piste sérieuse, même modeste.
