My name is Tammy Magnus. This month, July 2015, I return self-funded to Uganda, in Eastern Africa, for the second time in as many years. My first journey to Uganda was the realisation of a childhood dream and an experience that ignited my want to make a difference.

A background in social welfare working with homeless children, a keen interest in empowering women and children, a passion to help those most vulnerable and a desire for social change sees me return to Uganda a second time.

My initial journey; I discovered the loving hugs of orphaned children, I witnessed the dire need of overcrowded and under resourced schools and experienced the despair of poverty stricken slum children still smiling with hope for a brighter future. I realised fast that the smallest of things could make the biggest of impacts.

This journey; sees me experience the life of a refugee at the poverty stricken Nakivale Refugee Camp, one of Africa's oldest refugee settlements, in South Western Uganda.

The desperation and despair of these people touches my heart. I want to help by providing emergency relief for new refugee arrivals.

My mission is to provide core relief items as a "REFUGEE RESCUE KIT". Each kit will contain critical supplies such as: rice, sugar, flour, salt, water, bathing/laundry soap, matchbox, pot, bowl, spoon, cup, blanket, sanitary/first aid items and bucket.
A donation of any value is gratefully accepted or opt to purchase a "REFUGEE RESCUE KIT" valued at $50each. These kits will be sourced in Uganda and hand delivered. By providing this practical assistance I aim to reach and alleviate the suffering of as many people as I can.

Thankyou for your generosity, for sharing my journey and dream and for opening your heart too, to make a difference.
