My name is Karl and I am raising funds for the Five Loaves and Two Fishes food bank in McDowell County, West Virginia. I recently moved to the area to support the McDowell County School District because I am passionate about ensuring that every child has access to a high‑quality education.

However, it quickly became clear that many children here face tremendous challenges long before they ever enter a classroom. When students arrive at school hungry, meeting their most basic needs takes precedence over learning—and understandably so.

The children of McDowell County deserve the same opportunities and quality of life as any other child, and addressing food insecurity is a critical place to start.
