There is never a good time to break your leg, but it is especially hard if you're a farmer in July. On July 3, Patrick Bollinger of Foothill Roots Farm in Meadow Vista, CA broke his femur in a bike crash. It has thrown their farm and family into quite the unwelcome juggling act figuring out how to accomplish all they need to do without Patrick over the next 3 months. His rockstar wife, Diane, is holding things together as best she can with moral support from their daughter, Sage. Foothill Roots Farm is a community farm providing jobs and supplying food for their town and Tahoe Food Hub who brings their fresh produce to North Lake Tahoe. He has a long road to recovery during peak harvest season. Please consider a donation to help him and his family stay on their feet and keep their community fed.
