Hi, my name is Alexis, and I’m creating this fundraiser with a heavy heart for my family. Recently, I suffered a miscarriage that turned into a medical nightmare. What should have been a carefully monitored situation turned into a five-day hospital stay filled with negligence that nearly cost me my life. I lost a dangerous amount of blood and was minutes away from not making it.

Because of the way hospital protections and laws work, we can’t take legal action — even though what happened was deeply wrong. Now, we’re left trying to recover physically, emotionally, and financially.

My husband Jacob had to miss three days of work to stay by my side and take care of our two children — our nine-year-old and our three-year-old (who turns four this Christmas). Unfortunately, his job doesn’t offer paid leave or bereavement coverage, and we’re now facing major financial strain.

We just filed bankruptcy, and our first payment is due in less than two weeks. Our car is barely running, and I’m currently on strict bed rest for at least another week after already being confined to a hospital bed. The timing couldn’t be worse, but we’re trying our best to stay strong for our kids and each other.

We’re reaching out with humility and hope — asking for any help possible to get us through this dark time. Every dollar goes toward keeping our home, covering bills, and catching up from the days we lost while I heal.
