My name is Ajay Gupta. I currently live in the Columbus OH area and hail from the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, also known as the Land of God. It is known for its rich heritage in culture and forests. It is home to scenic mountain towns, resorts and religious shrines of different beliefs. My hometown and home state have witnessed one of the worst natural disasters of its history this year.

The state is experiencing nature's fury - cloudbursts and torrential rains. The worst monsoon season this year caused floods, land and mudslides as never seen before. Global warming is real. Multiple lives are lost, ~60 being the official number whereas the actual missing people are in the thousands. Many families lost generations, kids lost parents and villages have been completely washed away. Hundreds of homes are destroyed, and cities disconnected from the rest of the world as roads are washed away.

According to news articles, the losses are in billions. While human lives can not be brought back, I urge my friends, nears and dears, and friends of friends to please contribute to help restore one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Every cent counts, no donation is small. The money collected will be sent to the state Chief Minister's Disaster Relief fund and will help build the infrastructure back attempting to bring life back to normal.
