Why This Matters

My name is Carmilla Ligons, and I am creating a nonprofit called Reconnect Now. Our mission is to reunite families with displaced loved ones who are struggling with homelessness and mental illness.

I’ve walked this road in my own family. The pain of searching for someone you love, while facing walls of silence and unanswered questions, inspired me to take action. Families deserve better. Too many people are left powerless, not knowing if their loved one is safe, well, or even alive.

Reconnect Now will create a bridge between families and the agencies that can help them locate, support, and—most importantly—reconnect with the people they love.

How Funds Will Be Used

I am partnering with ONEOC’s Fiscal Sponsorship Program, which provides administrative and legal support for new nonprofits.

The initial fiscal sponsorship registration fee is $400

The annual fee is $400

Any donations raised beyond this will go directly toward office space, website building and maintenance,outreach, campaigns, and building the organization’s capacity to serve families

Every donor will be acknowledged as a sponsor of Reconnect Now.
