Joel Chrispo Dumba
My name is Joel Chrispo Dumba. I am originally from South Sudan, which gained independence from Sudan after decades of civil wars. I came to the United States in 2011 to pursue my master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh. After graduating in 2013, I was unable to return to South Sudan because another civil war had erupted. Because of these wars, I have been separated from my family for 14 years. Fortunately, my wife and five children were re-settled to safety in Uganda where they reside as refugees. In April 2023, I was granted US citizenship which gave me freedom I never dreamed about.
The purpose for raising funds is for me to purchase an airline ticket to be re-united with my family, and to personally visit the United States embassy in Kampala, Uganda. My family began the immigration process 10 years ago, and during this time, I have been working with immigration attorneys in the United States to secure their legal immigration to Pittsburgh. I will use the additional funds raised to pay for a Ugandan immigration attorney to help me find out what is delaying my family from coming to the United States. The expected amount to cover these expenses is $20,000. For more details about my story, please follow the link below. Thank you for your donation! Any amount will be helpful.
