Hi, my name is Molly and I am looking at how to start a recall petition for RJ Sigurdsson. Not only has he (as with all of the UCP) ignored the voices of the people he supposedly represents, but he is also completely unresponsive to contact and incredibly difficult to get ahold of. Upon phoning the office of Danielle Smith to complain about how we have not been able to contact him since we began trying to in AUGUST, the assistant on the phone told us that he "has heard this a few times" and that many of the UCP MLA's seem to be "in hiding". In my opinion, RJ has consistently shown that he is unable to actually perform his duties as MLA - whether he is doing so purposefully and maliciously, or because he is actually incapable... Either way, as our democratically elected representative, this is inappropriate.

A recall petition costs a $500 application fee. As a two-teacher household who has lost our entire income for the past month while the government repeatedly refused to come to the bargaining table, this is not feasible for us right now. I'm hoping there are people out there who would be able to pitch in for this $500 application fee.

RJ needs to do better and actually represent the people who elected him. His actions have shown an incredible lack of integrity. With the invoking of the Notwithstanding Clause to remove our Charter Rights, which RJ supported, we should all be warned: this government is not for the people. This government WILL strip you of your rights when convenient for them to do so, and RJ Sigurdsson supports this.

Whether you align yourself politically with the right, center, or the left, the actions of RJ Sigurdsson should bother you. He is supporting our government to limit our Charter-given freedoms. Right now, it's being directed at teachers. Who will it be next time?
