On behalf of my family, I’m reaching out for support during an incredibly difficult time.

On December 10, 2025, my mom, little brother, and I went to visit my dad in the hospital. We were gone for only two hours. During that short window, someone broke into our home, ransacked our rooms, and took the savings my parents had spent years putting aside.

My parents are first-generation immigrants who have worked in a nail salon for over 20 years to build a stable future for my brother and me. My dad has been suffering from chronic health problems — he’s been in and out of the hospital since last March and has not been able to work normally since then. The money that was taken represented decades of hard work and sacrifice. It was used to cover rent, bills, and daily expenses while my dad couldn’t work, and it was also what my parents had been setting aside for retirement.

My dad is 60 years old and had dreamed of using those savings to buy our family’s first home in Vietnam and eventually retire there. This devastating event has left my family feeling unsafe in the place we call home and has taken away my parents’ only financial safety net.

We are humbly asking for help to rebuild even a portion of what was taken so my parents can regain some security and still look toward retirement after a lifetime of hard work and sacrifice.
