Rebuilding Nysa
Donation protected
We are helping to relaunch a ministry that was successfully run in Belaruse for over a decade. The war between Russia/ Ukraine and the ensuing Russian control over Belaruse created intense persecution for Christians who sought to protect and heal the injured and fleeing. Many of the ministry leaders were jailed. Others fled Belaruse to Poland. Now, in Poland, Belarusian and Ukranian refugees want to relaunch the ministry because it creates great opportunities to involve young people who want to be involved in ministry but aren't pastors. The ministry also shares the love of Christ with people in the community who have construction or renovation needs. Nysa is a town where many people have faced devastating damage to their homes due to flooding last summer. The challenge the ministry hopes to over come and the reason they have partnered with some Americans for their seminal launch, is because as refugees it has been hard for them to get cooperation from the local churches in Poland. They know that for the long-term sustainability of the ministry, they must form partnerships with local church leaders. They hope that doing a big, multinational project involving Belarusian, Ukrainian, Polish, and American volunteers, that the project will pick up some momentum, relationships will form and the project can become long-lasting and self-sustaining.
