A less than a year ago my parents took the leap to move from Las Vegas to Utah to follow a job for my dad. After just shy of 30 years in Las Vegas, change wasn’t easy and finding a house was even harder. They eventually felt like they found a small place that they could turn into a home. This would be the home they would grow old in, the one that grandkids would visit, and the one that would help anchor them in their community. But just when they had finally settled in, disaster struck and it went up in flames.
No one was home when the fire started, the dog miraculously was able to escape, but the house was considered a total loss. Due to all the damage, we will have to demolish what remains of the house and rebuild it up from the basement foundation.
We are setting up this GoFundMe as an opportunity for people to help if they feel moved to. My parents have a hard time accepting financial charity from people because they feel like there are so many people who are in harder positions and need it so much more.
We, their 11 kids, know how much our parents have worked and sacrificed to raise us throughout the years. We are forever influenced by their character, integrity, and example. We appreciate all the support that could be offered toward our parents' home.
Thank you all so much.
