Help Rebuild Mocho and Surrounding Communities After Hurricane Melissa
My name is Bruce Elliott, born and raised in Mocho, Clarendon. I am raising money to help my community and surrounding areas recover after the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa — the most powerful and destructive storm ever to hit Jamaica.
Mocho and nearby communities are very remote, with poor infrastructure. Farming is our main source of income, and almost all farmland and homes have been destroyed. Before the hurricane, we had limited electricity — now, there is total darkness. Families are struggling to find food, clean water, clothing, and shelter.
As a Jamaican myself, my heart breaks for my people and for everyone across the island affected by this disaster. We are deeply sorry for the pain and loss so many are facing, and we send our heartfelt condolences to the families who lost loved ones.
This fundraiser is something I want to personally lead to help Mocho and surrounding communities rebuild. The goal is to provide food, clothing, building materials, and medical supplies, and to help farmers restore their land and livelihoods so they can support their families again with dignity.
Even though we have a fundraising target, we will be grateful for any contribution, no matter how small. Every bit helps bring relief, hope, and light back to our communities.
I promise to keep all donors updated step by step through photos, videos, and live updates, showing exactly how your hard-earned money is being used to make a difference.
Together, we can rebuild Mocho and the surrounding communities — restoring strength, hope, and a brighter future for everyone. ❤️
Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support.
— Bruce Elliott
