As students at the University of North Texas, we learned how important it is to use our voices and resources to support those who are too often overlooked. That’s why we’re raising funds for the Fort Bend Women’s Center, an organization that helps survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, along with their children, find safety and build new beginnings. The need is urgent—1 in 3 women in Texas experience intimate partner violence, and in 2022 alone, over 254,000 cases of family violence were reported. Behind every one of those numbers is a real person who deserves dignity, protection, and hope.

The Fort Bend Women’s Center is already making a powerful difference. In 2024, they served more than 3,300 survivors and children, providing not just crisis response, but the tools to heal and thrive. Your donations will go directly toward essentials like clothing through their thrift stores, gift cards that allow survivors to shop with dignity, and safe housing where women and children can rebuild their lives. These programs don’t just offer short-term relief—they help create lasting independence and stability.

Every gift truly matters. A donation of $500 can fund 50 hotline calls, cover over 30 meals for survivors, or provide two weeks of direct support to someone in crisis. But even the smallest contribution can be life-changing, because together, every dollar becomes part of a lifeline for someone breaking free from abuse.
