Rebuilding Kathy’s Home and Hope After the Storm

As some of you may know, Mississippi was struck by a severe ice storm back in January 2026. That storm resulted in thousands of fallen power lines and trees, one of which fell on the home of, beloved grandmother, Kathy Cooper, who shared the home with her disabled son and grandson. The fallen tree severely damaged her house causing massive damage to the roof and destabilizing the house’s foundation. The damage was catastrophic and the house cannot be salvaged. Kathy and her family are effectively homeless. Making matters worse, her pet bird, Pepper, whom she adored, did not survive the ordeal. Kathy and her family are very proud and private people and resisted asking for help at first but the situation has spiraled out of control and they now realize that they are truly in need. This is not easy for them. Kathy needs money to pay off her mortgage, and the demolition of the house, plus temporary housing expenses while they search for a new home. Kathy has suffered much loss in the past few years with the loss of her daughter, daughter-in-law, husband and now her home. This has all taken a heavy toll on her. We humbly ask for your help.

PS: Any amount is appreciated..if you’re not able to give, sharing it will help too.
