WNC update: Caleb and Stephen made it back tonight after dropping off supplies to the church and various locals that they made contact with in Hendersonville, Biltmore Village, Fletcher, Black Mountain, Chimney Rock, Lake Lure, and the outskirts. It is as bad as what you are seeing all over Facebook, TikTok, news, etc. People are finding bodies of friends and families just down the road from where their homes have either been flooded and gutted or have completely disappeared. Roads are lying in pieces in the river. The stories are heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. Locals have lost everything they have and still consider themselves blessed because they have churches that are putting them up and feeding them. They generously offered food to my sons even though they don’t know how many more meals they will have.
They’re going to be making several trips back with other friends and family members as well throughout the next several days and weeks. It will take years to rebuild many areas of WNC.
After speaking to many of the people and churches through these towns, they’ve come up with a fresh list of needed supplies. He’s going to need help to fund these efforts. We’re so grateful for everything donated so far. If anyone else would like to help, please feel free to donate to the GoFundMe link.
