Hello everyone!

This year, I plan to spend my Spring Break volunteering with MCPHS InterVarsity Christian Fellowship for ServeUp New Orleans.

ServeUp was established after Hurricane Katrina. Their mission is to repair homes in locations hit by storms. They've served in places like Baton Rouge, Houston, Puerto Rico, and Tampa, in addition to New Orleans.

Over the past 20 years, Louisiana has been hit by Hurricanes Katrina and Ida, and residents are still recovering from the destruction that these natural disasters have caused. In addition, the state is experiencing major land loss, as it has lost more than 1,500 square miles of its coast.

In March, I will be joining a group of students from the Boston area to help with reconstruction efforts. In addition to service during the day, we will have conversations on topics of faith and service. I am hoping to raise $950, which will make it possible to travel to Louisiana, covering housing and flight expenses.

Este año planeo pasar mis vacaciones de primavera como voluntario en el programa ServeUp New Orleans de la organización MCPHS InterVarsity, comunidad cristiana.

ServeUp se fundó después del huracán Katrina. Su misión es reparar viviendas en las zonas afectadas por las tormentas. Han trabajado en lugares como Baton Rouge, Houston, Puerto Rico y Tampa, además de Nueva Orleans.

En los últimos 20 años, Luisiana ha sido azotada por los huracanes Katrina e Ida, y sus habitantes aún se están recuperando de la destrucción causada por estos desastres naturales. Además, el estado está experimentando una importante pérdida de territorio, ya que ha perdido más de 1500 millas cuadradas de su costa.

En marzo, me uniré a un grupo de estudiantes del área de Boston para ayudar en las labores de reconstrucción. Además del trabajo voluntario durante el día, tendremos conversaciones sobre temas de fe y servicio. Espero recaudar 950 dólares, lo que me permitirá viajar a Luisiana, cubriendo los gastos de alojamiento y vuelo.
