Rebuilding Hope for native Fairview Family

My name is Ashèlee Holland. I am the daughter of Christine Lopez. We are Fairview natives.

On September 27, 2024, our hometown Fairview, NC, was hit by Tropical Storm Helene. The Valley on Morgan Hill Rd (end of Garren Creek towards Broad River). Our neighborhood had mudslides, flooding and roads crumbling away. My mom’s home was hit by a double-wide and split into three pieces. Bedroom and bathroom , then living & kitchen. . My mother’s bedroom and bathroom and crushed in laundry room are the only things left intact and moved a football field from her land.

She has lost everything: clothing, medications, CPAP, and personal belongings. The home is gone, but our family is alive and well. Our community has been Bulldozered by Helene. We are hoping to use the funds towards rebuilding a new home & get replacement medical equipment. God bless y’all and thank you for reading our story.
