As some of you have heard, the beloved McQuerry family lost their home to a devastating fire yesterday in Sheridan, burning the entire house to the ground. By the mercy of God, everyone is safe and unharmed. But everything inside—and we mean everything—was consumed by the fire: all things precious and practical. As well as keepsakes belonging to Emily's parents and her sister's family.

Right now, the McQuerry family are in need of their brothers and sisters to come alongside them—to hold them up in prayer, and to help carry the very practical burden of rebuilding the basic necessities of everyday life, as they deal with the shock and reality of this sudden loss.

In a season where home has already been continually transient and makeshift, precious Emily - a mother and homemaker at heart - has gone above and beyond to make each temporary space as cosy and familiar as possible for the sake of her little ones as they grow. Even in the face of various challenges at their previous rental, Gunner and Emily did whatever they could to keep the family’s spirits up and make the best of difficult living circumstances. Despite raising the family in constant chaos and uncertainty, they were always rooted in gratitude —even when things made very little sense.

All of that is to say, our hearts are absolutely devastated for this precious mama and family. Both Gunner and Emily have sacrificed so much out of love for the family and in pursuit of God, and now, they are faced with another enormous challenge. This time, they have lost not simply a temporary place to live, but everything they owned and was special to their family history.

Our immediate goal is to raise $30,000 to help the family of 5 get back on their feet with temporary housing and begin rebuilding the most basic pieces of daily life. They need everything—from clothes and shoes for the family, to bedding, towels, kitchen supplies, small appliances, and other household necessities, to homeschooling supplies, books, laptops, electronics and all the countless little things a family needs to function from day to day. When you lose your home to a fire, you don't simply lose the big things; you lose the toothbrushes, the pots and pans, the children's books, the extra pair of shoes, the school supplies, the blankets, and a thousand ordinary things you never realise you depend on until they are suddenly gone.

Our hope is to surround the McQuerry family with practical love and give them the breathing room to focus on healing, caring for their children, and finding their footing again. Whether you are able to give $20, $50, $100, or more, every gift brings them one step closer to having the necessities they need to begin again. If you can't give financially, sharing this fundraiser and praying for the McQuerrys is just as meaningful.
