My name is Lacey, and I work for Godfrey's Tree Service.

Owner, Kevin Godfrey, and I recently worked for a family in Trion, GA.

On July 4th, 2026, during a storm, a massive oak tree fell through their family home, destroying the living room, dining room, and most of the kitchen.

The tree fell through the room where 5 family members (Mom, Dad & 3 young kids) were relaxing.

With God's Protection, not one person had any serious injuries, only a few bruises and scratches.

Mr. Norman Gaither and his wife, Janice, have lived in their home for nearly 33 Years.

Their daughter, Loren, and son-in-law Justin Barker, with their 3 children: Ava (9), Caden (6), and Easton (2) also lived in the home.

Norman is a proud Veteran with 39+ years of service. Norman and Justin work outside of the home. Jan and Loren are both homemakers.

Mr. and Mrs. Gaither thankfully have homeowners' insurance that will cover tree removal costs as well as the major repairs of their family home.

What they need help with goes beyond repairs.

Loren homeschooled her eldest 2 children in the room the tree destroyed.

As a result of the tree falling through the house, the family lost several items, including furniture, kitchenware, some homeschool materials (including curriculum), and several other household items.

The families are also displaced until repairs are completed.

They are thankful that God saw fit to protect their family from harm and to only have lost things that can be replaced.

The family appreciates any contributions and asks for thoughts and prayers as they start to rebuild their lives.

"On 02 July 1980, I reported at Lackland AFB, Texas, for Active Duty with the US Air Force. I was assigned to the 3703rd BMTS, Flt 006. I had the privilege to serve 12 years, 5 months, and 29 days with the USAF. Left AD and joined the Tenn. Army National Guard for another 8+ years and then transferred to the Tenn. Air National Guard for 17+ years. It was an amazing life experience to get 39+ years of Service. I met a lotta great American Patriots and saw many places in the States and a deployment to the Persian Gulf region. I was able to return the Support given to my fellow Airmen and myself through this opportunity to post the US Flag during the National Anthem at a Trion HS football game in August 2017.
