My name is Susan Epstein, a resident of Sterling Place in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. On February 19th, there was a terrible fire on my block. Among those displaced are my neighbors, Gilbert, Fabiola, Faberley, Genevieve, Marie, and Sendy. This extended family of 6 lived in one of the rent-stabilized apartments in the building for over 25 years. Now they have lost everything.

Unfortunately, they have no extended family nearby to turn to; they are currently living in a shelter in Manhattan and wondering what their future will hold. The adults in the family are trying to hold jobs while going through this ordeal.

The Sterling Block Association is trying to raise money to help this family find a new place to live and replace their belongings.
