My name is Earnest, speaking on the behalf of our household.
We're in a bit of a pickle with our roofing situation. Being relatively new homeowners, we find ourselves "putting out fires" instead of knowing the tell-tale signs of preventing them in the first place.
Around the time we first purchased and moved into this house, we installed gutters to minimize any home damage from rain water run-off, which helped eliminate a fungus growth patch underneath the house.
Unfortunately during a storm back in June, after the rain let up, we lost the roof to the back porch, causing a section of the gutters to hang free of the house, which the cause turned out to be wood-rot.
We we're denied by the insurance company and although we have decent credit, we found out our completely stationary double wide needs to go from "Title" to "Deed", before we can try for programs such as home equality loans.
The previous owners took it upon themselves to D.Y.I every problem and as a result, we unfortunately do not meet the inspection criteria. With extremely expensive issues like a foundation consisting of center blocks to hold up the add-on, we don't qualify for any loans without receiving the proper deed first.
We don't normally reach out like this but with little to no proper advice on how to handle this situation, our backs are against the wall and we didn't see much of a choice.
We realized in today's economy, we're all in similar situations. As such, we don't expect anything and are absolutely humbled, as well as appreciative to anyone who can help out or share the link to someone who might be able to.
We appreciate your kindness.
