My name is Sara Wood and in February of 2022, I was hit by a Chevy suburban, that caused me to lose my left leg. (By my ex husband) My family started a go fund me back then, but after the incident we moved to the Bay Area for safety reasons. We prayed for a house back in weed ca and landed one. Only for a couple months later the #millfire broke out and burned our entire house with all our belongings in it. We fell in love with Lincoln heights and the people, and watching our little community burn has broke our hearts in so many ways. This year has been horrendous for my family. My kids have been so resilient. We have been through so much loss, yet still remain grateful and will continue to move forward. All we have is the clothes on our backs, our dog and each other! We will still continue to try and live in weed with the amazing community we have built that has helped us through everything thus far. My three kids deserve the world, but watching them be grateful for life is just as rich as we will ever be!
