My partner and I originally came to Utah as international students about six years ago, and we’ve been living here ever since.

We moved into the North Union apartments just a few weeks ago. On July 31, a fire spread through the building and reached our apartment on the fourth floor. We watched the ceiling collapse and the fire spread into our unit after getting out safely with our cat. The heavily damaged apartment shown in the photos is our actual unit.

We were only able to leave with our cat. We lost basically everything else we owned, including our clothes, furniture, electronics, kitchen supplies, and everyday belongings.

We don’t have any family in the United States that we can stay with, so we’re now trying to find a new place to live and replace the basic things we need. The money raised will help with temporary housing, clothes, furniture, household essentials, and supplies for our cat.
