Our three cats are dead and everything we owned up in flames tonight.

My name is Amber Goering and my husbands name is Jordan Goering. We took a trip to Walmart this evening and on our way home received a frantic call from our neighbor who said "Your apartment is on fire!" By this time, the fire department was there and we had a lot of questions but received no answers for hours.

We couldn't enter what was left of our home until after the fire department completed their investigation.

Finally, after they completed their job, a police officer walked up to my husband in the garage and handed him a glass pie dish and coldly said "Here is what's left." No explanation as to what he specifically meant and walked away as Jordan repeatedly questioned what he was talking about. That was his way of telling us that is what was left of home, our life, our family.

I don't know why that officer felt to tell us in such a manner of rude indifference. It really disappointed me that the officer could inform someone their life was gone like that.

We have no savings and little means to restart a new life. So any donation will be greatly appreciated and very much needed. Thank you.
