My name is Sky, and the past few years have tested me in ways I never could have imagined. It all began when I was mistakenly declared dead by the VA, which set off a chain reaction that turned my life upside down. I lost my benefits, my job, and my home, and eventually found myself incarcerated. Through every setback, I have held onto my determination to create a better world—not just for myself, but for others who are struggling, too.
Even while facing these challenges, I have been working to start a nonprofit dedicated to helping young people secure stable housing and learn the skills they need to thrive. My dream is to raise enough money to purchase an apartment complex that can serve as a launching pad for youth, teaching them how to rent, manage property, and eventually invest in homes of their own. I believe that by empowering the next generation, we can break cycles of hardship and build stronger communities.
Right now, I am asking for help to cover my most basic needs—food, hygiene, and a safe place to stay. If enough is raised, those funds will also go toward making my nonprofit vision a reality. For the past decade, I have used my own resources to help others and have even fought to create legislation for a better world. To everyone who has the time or care in their heart to support me now, thank you. Your kindness is not just helping me in my time of need—it’s helping to build a brighter future for many.
