Recently, my son — a devoted single father — experienced a heartbreaking tragedy when a fire destroyed his home. He and his newborn baby are safe, however everything they owned was lost. In just moments, all of the baby’s essentials — diapers, formula, clothing, blankets, bottles, a crib, car seat, and every piece of newborn care they had worked so hard to prepare — were completely destroyed.

My son has been doing everything he can to give his new little boy a safe, loving start in life. Currently, as a single dad of a newborn, he already carries the weight of providing for his child on his own, and this fire has taken away the home and stability he fought so hard to build. Although they are temporarily in a safe place to stay, they urgent need of baby supplies, clothing, and support to replace the essential items that a newborn needs every day.

Insurance and emergency resources will not cover the full extent of what they’ve lost — especially the immediate needs of a baby. Any amount of help, no matter how small, will make a tremendous difference as they begin the difficult process of rebuilding their lives and creating a safe space for this precious new baby.
