Hi, my name is Rachel, and I am here to help raise funds for my mother, Roxie. Most people that this post will reach know her from our hometown of Brownsburg, Indiana. Much of the world has recently seen the destruction that Hurricane Ian just imposed on our beach town of Bonita Springs/South Ft. Myers, Florida. Many homes have been lost, lives washed away, along with a total loss of all personal belongings. Unfortunately, this is where my mother is at.

For those of you who know Roxie, you know how caring and helpful she is to people in need. She's always willing to help where and when help is needed. As a child, I can remember she was always volunteering with the schools, Girl Scouts, and sports. She was VERY involved in the community. In 2006 I was relocated to SWFL, and soon after, my parents decided to follow me to paradise to enjoy retirement and the weather. I helped them to purchase their mobile home, which quickly became a full-time home for Roxie. Roxie is not new to tragedy; in 1995, our family home burned down and the community rallied to help us rebuild our lives then, and we intend to do so this time too. Things are a bit different this time, though. Now my mother is approaching 70 years of age, she lives primarily on disability, and a loss like this is much more impactful. As her daughter, I am doing everything in my power to assist, but we also sustained much damage to our properties as well, so resources are limited.

Donated funds will be used for the replacement of furniture, appliances, clothing and necessities, as well as a down payment on a new home, as she will not be able to return to her old home.

At the end of the day, we did survive, and that's all that matters. However, any donations would be beyond appreciated and tremendously impact a life.
