Help Rebuild Whitmore's BBQ: A American Legacy

Since 1980 at this location and as a whole since 1942 the Whitmore family has served Cleveland with barbecue made from love, tradition, and pride. But in the early morning of March 3rd, 2026, a fire swept through our building, forcing our doors closed and leaving a void in the heart of our community.

Whitmore's has always been more than a restaurant. We are a family. And we have always believed that family extends beyond blood.

We employ those who have a need for employment, people looking for a second chance, a first job, or simply a place to belong. We give them an opportunity to work, learn, and grow in a supportive, family environment while serving the community at large. For decades, we have helped the hungry, hosted charity events from our own pocket, and made sure no one in our neighborhood went without a hot meal.

Now, we need your help.

The fire took our building, but it cannot take our spirit. The funds raised here will do three things:

Help our family rebuild and reopen Whitmore's.

Support the families who work for us so they can continue to provide for themselves, their children, and their elders while we are closed

Ensure that this piece of Cleveland and American history remains standing for the next generation

We are determined to fire up those pits once more. But we cannot do it alone.

Every dollar brings us closer to reopening. Every share brings us closer to home.
