Twin Steeples Creative Arts Center is a small-town hub of art, community, and culture in Ponchatoula, LA. The dream of the late Harry Gabriel, Twin Steeples hosts art events, gallery shows, and community meetups all year round. As a 501c3 nonprofit, Twin Steeples is funded primarily by donations and memberships.
Today, tragedy struck our Center. Twin Steeples lives in the two oldest wooden churches in Ponchatoula. Harry Gabriel turned these two former houses of worship into a center that celebrates human creativity. Our main gallery was hit by lightning on March 9th at approximately 5:30 pm. As of this moment, we don't know if she can be salvaged. Our newest gallery exhibit was set to be unveiled this Friday at an Opening Reception, and our calendar for the coming months was filled.
We don't know how long it will take to get Twin Steeples back up and running. We don't want to stop supporting local artists and the community of Ponchatoula. That's why we are asking for your help. All donations will go into keeping us going while we assess and repair or rebuild, as well as to the work itself. We have insurance, but we all know that it never goes as far as you need when something like this happens.
