Hi, my name is David Vallotton, and I’m organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Ann Vallotton.

Recently, flooding in Redding washed out the bridge that crosses a creek on the Vallotton's property. This bridge wasn’t just a convenience, it was the only access point to the rest of their land. Without it, they’ve effectively lost access to a large portion of their property that has long been a place of gathering, connection, and joy.

For almost 40 years, Jerry has been a beloved teacher and coach in the Redding community. Through teaching, wrestling, and church involvement, Jerry and Ann have impacted countless students, athletes, and families. Many who have shared in the Vallotton's hospitality over the years from bonfires by the creek to outdoor activities that brought people together in meaningful ways, share these memories.

Unfortunately, rebuilding the bridge is far beyond what is feasible on a retired teacher’s income. The cost of materials, equipment, and professional labor makes this an overwhelming challenge to face alone.

We are raising funds to help rebuild the bridge so that Jerry and Ann have full access to their property. Any contribution, no matter the size, will help, and sharing this fundraiser is just as meaningful. Also, if you have other means that would help in rebuilding this new bridge, please reach out.

God is good and we know he has a purpose, even for something like this. If I know my brother well, I know that he has already watched his favorite Christmas movie, "It's a Wonderful Life". In the same spirit of the people of Bedford Falls and George Bailey, let's show the Vallotton's our love and gratitude as we pull together to support them.
