We are the Strathroy Model Railroad Engineers. We are a group of passionate volunteers that run the Sleepy Hollow Railroad, a 7 1/2" (1/8th scale) ride on train ride in Strathroy, ON, Canada. The railroad gives rides to thousands of children and adults every year and is adored by the community.

On the morning of July 1, 2024 our building was hit by an underage impaired driver. While the building has been fixed by the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc, the items inside belong mostly to club members.

We are setting up this page based on the community's insistence. While we as a club will do our best to fix what has been broken, some of the items are irreplaceable or cannot be repaired.

In our initial review* of the damage we have lost:

3 pairs of couplers (which hold train cars together
2 sets of trucks (the wheels the cars sit on)
1 CN Operation Lifesaver Caboose (which was built by one of our members by hand as a wedding present to his son who founded the club in 2022).
2 Tank cars
1 flatcar
N & HO scale layouts including locomotives, cars, buildings, etc.
Damage to "Thomas"
Superficial damage to multiple other cars
2 TVs used to display pictures and for educational purposes
1 folding table
Priceless memorabilia and artifacts set up at the end of June, 2024 to open our railroad history exhibit. Some had been donated by a member who has since passed away.
