Rebuild the Barn

The Groleau Family farm has been within the Groleau family for over 150 years with a rich history.  The original farming land grant for the farm was signed by our 16th president Abraham Lincoln.  The original document still remains hanging in the Groleau home as a piece of family history.  Ever since, the farm has been passed down generation to generation.   Most recently, Louie and Lynn have been running the day to day operations at the farm market.

Pat and Frenchy began selling cherries, pumpkins, and raspberries in front of the farm house over 45 years ago.  It progressed into building the farm market 15 years ago, which is run by Louie and Lynn.  Continuously growing, the market now sells locally grown fruits, vegetables, corn, homemade pies, dressings, soft serve ice cream and much more!  The Groleau’s have happily served the community now for 15 years and have become a destination in the Traverse area.

With the recent tragic events, the original barn, built in 1860 caught fire and was engulfed with flames, taking down not only the barn, but the pigs who were housed in the barn. 

Please help us in raising some money to help out this wonderful family in a time of need.  They work hard every day on the farm to provide fresh local products to the community with a genuine, warm-hearted, attitude.  The funds raised will be used to rebuild the barn as close to a replica as we can.

We are extremely grateful for your donations and kindness shown toward our family.  Louie and Lynn are beyond passionate about the market and the rich history they have with Groleau Family Farm.  It truly is a family business.
