Steven Gil, spent 8 years in Washington State meeting his biological family from his father's side for the first time. Then, 2 years ago, he moved back to New York to live closer to his biological mother, sisters, and stepdad. On wednesday morning, october 9th, 2024, he received a call that his aunt in Washington State was held ransom by the Mexican cartel. The cartel members threatened to kill Steven Gil's aunt if money wasn't withdrawn from his bank account and sent to Mexico. Using AI technology, the voice of his crying aunt begged for Steven to pay the ransom. The location of Steven and his aunt was tracked by the cartel members. Steven tried to call his aunt, and she didn't answer. The cartel members said that his phone was hacked and that if he called the police or told anyone, he would kill his aunt. As the day proceeded, 10,300 was sent to Mexico for the ransom. Steven received calls from his mother, brother, and cousin that Steven was also held ransom. Come to find out that it was cyber hackers who stole his and his aunt's personal information so that they could make their relatives pay their ransom money. Steven stays out of trouble, is doing physical therapy, and works for the sanitation department.
Steven has been someone who has gone through many ups and downs like going through cancer and beating it. Also going through his situation with addictions. He now has got his life together. He worked very hard to get his apartment in New York and was looking to start a trade school when this happened. And now he has been a victim to Grand Larceny. And a big scam. These cowards took every penny of his bank account while threatening his life and his aunt. Because he thought his aunt was in danger, he did not hesitate to give them what they asked. Which was all his savings of 10,300 dollars. This has been done to spread awareness to fraud and to let your friends and loved ones not fall in this trap. They have the technology to use your loved ones' voice and know your location. And most of all, try to frighten you. I believe my brother Steven Gil will get everything he lost back because my God never loses a battle, and he will fight for those that have been done wrong. Anything will help. Thank you, and God bless everyone who sees this.
Thank you,
