URGENT MEDICAL NEEDS FOR JAMAICA! LET'S GET MEDICINE FOR THE SICK AND SUFFERING, AND HELP THE HOSPITALS SEVERELY DAMAGED BY HURRICANE MELISSA!
Following the catastrophic impact of Hurricane Melissa, Martin's International was called upon by the People of Jamaica, the USA and elsewhere to support the victims of Hurricane Melissa with a GoFundMe campaign. This is specifically to help the sick and others in need of serious healthcare -- especially patients in the Maternity Department of the St. Elizabeth Hospital in hard-hit Black River.
Below is the link for you to support our Jamaica Hurricane Melissa Hospital/Healthcare fundraiser today.
I will be in Jamaica next week for family and other major Reggae entertainers' funerals, the International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) press conference February 19th, and to present all the donations to the St. Elizabeth Hospital CEO at the conference.
Your name and the names of all the donors will be announced at this press conference.
Although my time is very limited, and I am still mourning the loss of my wife, Justice Shelvin Hall, and other family members, while planning the 43rd IRAWMA for South Florida, I am fully committed to raising funds for the St. Elizabeth Hospital and healthcare.
You may have already done a lot to help Jamaica in its hurricane crisis, but may want to do a little more. Click the link below and make a donation of any amount.
All the funds raised and the names of the donors (names-only) will be released and presented to the CEO of the St. Elizabeth Hospital on
February 19th in Kingston, Jamaica at the IRAWMA Press Conference.
Thanks,
Ephraim Martin, BH{M}, DBA.

Recently my country Jamaica was gravely destroyed by Hurricane Melissa. Tens of thousands of our residents who are sick, and some homeless, cannot get the medicine or medical care needed.
Four of the hospitals in South and West Jamaica, namely, Black River, Falmouth, Cornwall Regional and Noel Holmes Hospitals were severely damaged. One hospital left without power requiring the evacuation of patients, and the condition is more than heart-breaking. Other hospitals in the region like St. Ann Bay hospital are stretched to the limit.
Once the campaign is officially closed the funds will be presented to the hospital(s) and/or other Jamaica Health organization.
The Martin's International 43rd International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA), is dedicated to my wife, late Hon. Justice Shelvin L.M. Hall, one of its Executive Producers. It takes place on Sunday, May 17th, 2026, at the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center (LPAC) in Lauderhill, South Florida, and a part of any proceeds will go toward Health Care in Jamaica.

In 2020, I led the campaign that renamed Chicago's iconic Lake Shore Drive as "Jean Baptiste Pointe DuSable Lake Shore Drive" in honor of Chicago's Founding Father, a Black Man from the Caribbean country of Haiti. For over 240 years, he was not properly recognized as Chicago's founder, the city where we established a trading post in 1779.
