The San Diego Mission Bay Boat & Ski Club is one of the oldest clubs in the US, established in San Diego in 1940. We are dedicated to promoting San Diego as a destination for activities on the water. We also support a diverse community, including the Pacific Islander community with our Outrigger Canoe Program, the Kumeyaay Native American Tribe with our cultural learning workshops, the vision-impaired community with our Blind Ski Clinics, our community youth with our YMCA Summer Camp Kayak Programs, our university programs including our SDSU & UCSD Concrete Canoe Teams, and several water ski teams including the Convair Water Ski Team and the San Diego Water Ski Team.
Earlier this month, we suffered a horrific fire that destroyed 80% of our Clubhouse, which was the focal point of our club. We now need to rebuild, but as a 501c7 non-profit club, we have limited funds and need to rely on the generosity of our community to help us rebuild even stronger than before. Our club was relocated to Mission Bay in 1965, so we have been good stewards of the club property for 60+ years. We intend to re-build a club that will last for the next 60 years.
