Rebuild Pepe and Lupe’s house

Hello everyone. It’s with a heavy heart that once again I ask for your help for my family. This time it’s for my parents, as their house burned.

Last night, the 28th of January, my parents' home caught on fire. Thankfully, they made it out safely. Sadly, they did not have homeowners insurance.

My parents, Jose M. Carrillo, “Pepe,” and my mother, Guadalupe Carrillo, “Lupita,” are the patriarchs of the family due to my father being the eldest son of his 12 siblings. My parents are such giving people that my father has literally given the shirt off his back to help another in need or just because someone really liked his shirt. My dad is very outgoing and will randomly start a conversation with a stranger who later would become a friend.

My parents help anyone in need. Many come to them for help in loaning money, giving money, food, clothing, giving rides, or anything they may need; even hosting parties or get-togethers at their house.

My parents saved every penny in buying property in hopes of building a home. The house was built in 1990. I remember my dad taking us kids to clean up the property before the foundation was poured in. Then, when the house was just a skeleton, Dad asked us kids which room we wanted. Of course, we kids didn’t understand because it only had plywood and we didn’t understand the floor plans. But once the house was built, Blanca and I decided the back room would be the “girls” room because it was bigger and us girls needed more space.

La casa de Pepe y Lupe (Pepe and Lupe's house) was the house where many went to have a good time. Coming from a huge family, there was always a fiesta at the house, celebrating weddings, quinceañeras, birthdays, baby showers, holidays, or getting together whenever a family member passed. The house was filled with so many wonderful and sometimes tragic memories. The house is barely standing and it needs to be rebuilt. My parents have helped out so many throughout the years. Now it’s our turn to help them out.
