She sat on the dirt floor.

That rock... was her lunch.

I'm reaching out on behalf of Reclaim Haiti Inc, the organization working on the ground in our community of Randel.

I've carried this memory with me since the day it happened.

And I carry it now — not just because it broke me, but because it made me believe even more in what we're fighting for.

This story isn't a metaphor. I saw it with my own eyes.

In 2016, Hurricane Matthew tore through our village of Randel in Port-à-Piment, Haiti.

Our school — the heartbeat of our community — was reduced to broken wood and silence.

We rebuilt what we could with tarps.

We gathered under trees.

We kept teaching.

Then came more storms:

More than 2.7 million people have been forced to flee their homes.

And yet — every day — the children still come.

Walking barefoot for miles

️Carrying rocks instead of meals

Sitting on cracked benches with open hearts and empty bellies

And we?

We are still teaching.

We are still feeding.

We are still believing.

I'm writing to you — not just as a team member, but as someone who refuses to give up on these children.
