Rebuild Our Oasis
Donation protected
My name is Alisha Madrigal and I am starting this GoFundMe to benefit the Thompson Family. This husband and wife team own and operate Salon Oasis located at 3291 Truxel road in Sacramento, California and have been dealt a heavy blow by recent events.
During the stay at home orders that were in response to COVID-19 Carlon and Tina were forced to close their doors. On their first day attempting to re-open they discovered the air conditioning was no longer functioning. They were forced to send their clients home and handle a new bill instead. After tackling this inconvenience Carlon and Tina were once again ready to open. After only one day of work, taking far fewer clients to abide by social distancing standards the Thompsons returned to the salon to find they had been a victim of the looting that has made recent news in Sacramento. The back door was pried open with a crow bar and will need to be special ordered to be replaced. Looters caused extensive damage inside the building and stole product from the shelves. They have also had to board the windows to prevent any further damage resulting in yet another bill. Most of the current damages will not be covered by insurance.
Donations will be used to repair the shop, replace stolen product and pay bills including but not limited to the rent for their facility for which they were issued a threatening letter of default despite being unable to render any services during the stay at home order. Donations benefit more than just the Thompson family as this will also help to keep the doors open providing a space for other stylists to work and support their own families.
Carlon and Tina are more than stylists, they are a listening ear and wonderful friends to all they have served in the South Natomas community for the past 17 years. I am asking for your help to give back to a couple that willingly gives all they can to others and asks nothing in return. Repairing Salon Oasis is restoring an oasis to our community. Thank you very much for your support, together we can make a difference!
