Lieve allemaal,

Onze familie in Jamaica is de afgelopen week hard getroffen door orkaan Melissa. Hoewel we nog beperkt contact met hen hebben op dit moment, weten we gelukkig wel dat iedereen in goede gezondheid is.

Helaas is onze zus/tante Shelly zwaar getroffen: het dak van haar huis is weggewaaid, waardoor al haar bezittingen verloren zijn gegaan. Ook het andere familiehuis heeft te maken gehad met overstromingen, en de middelbare school van ons neefje is volledig weggeblazen.

Binnenkort zullen Pete (Popsy) en Oshane afreizen naar Jamaica om te helpen bij het herbouwen van Shelly’s huis.

Dear everyone,

Our family in Jamaica has been severely affected by Hurricane Melissa over the past week. Although we still have limited contact with them at this moment, we are thankful to know that everyone is safe and in good health.

Unfortunately, our sister/aunt Shelly has been hit the hardest: the roof of her house was blown away, causing her to lose all her belongings. Other family members have also suffered major damage, and the local high school in their area has been completely destroyed.

Soon, Pete and Oshane will travel to Jamaica to help rebuild Shelly’s home.
