Hey friends, we just had a very scary event in our darkroom and film developing space. A fire nearly destroyed everything we know and love. Our trusty Jobo completely failed to turn off even after everything was switched off. The heater stayed energized and took out the whole sink. Thankfully, Andy was right there when it started and put his Navy Submarine firefighting skills to use.
Our kitties are safe. Our developing space is not located at our storefront so we are still open to help our film community.
Unfortunately we lost our workhorse machine to develop film and have a lot of cleanup to do to get back on our feet. Our camera shop has never made money, that’s not our purpose. We’re here to provide for our small local film community and highlight local art.
We rarely reach out for help other than to spread the word of our shop and when we’re going on a photo walk in town. We can still develop film, but our capacity is greatly reduced. We’re looking for any and all community help right now to refurbish our lab and obtain a new developing machine. We will pay it back with matched developing costs or prints or pints. Somehow we will pay it back.
Anything helps. We want to keep film alive in our little corner of the world.
Andy, Alan and Patrick
