If you have the means, we would appreciate any help for our Tita Grace and Uncle Walter to Rebuild and start over After the Palisades Fire!!
Our Aunt Shirley-Grace and Uncle Walter who have recently lost everything in the devastating Palisades Fire are both in their late 60s and 70s, retired, with underlying health conditions and limited mobility. Sadly, they are no longer able to work and were looking forward to spending their remaining year’s spending time together and being in their home while helping their children in the Philippines.
The fire hit while they were at a routine doctor’s appointment, and they were informed that they would not be able to return to their home. In that moment, they had no chance to grab anything—no clothes, no cherished keepsakes, no medication, and most importantly, any valued items they had for generations from their families! All they had were the clothes on their backs and their car.
They lived in their home for over 25 years, building a life filled with memories and precious items handed down through generations. Now, they’ve lost it all and have nothing to start over with. They have been reaching out to different organizations for help, but like so many others, have received no responses. They are now struggling to find a place to stay and have only been able to obtain a few basic items they need and can fit in their car.
Since the fire, my Uncle has been hospitalized multiple times due to stress and illness, worsened by the loss of his cherished items and home he built. He relies on a gait to help him move around, making it difficult for him to get to locations offering assistance. My Aunt, who cannot drive, has limited mobility herself and is only able to get around on when necessary.
They’ve always lived simply and never sought much for themselves. Unfortunately, they are not familiar with modern online resources and are struggling to navigate today’s world of assistance. They need help to regain some stability and rebuild their lives from the ground up.
We want to help them to make the first steps to recovery, healing, and will the funds will be going toward:
-Basic needs and belongings for everyday
-rebuilding their lives back to normal and replacing any means of transportation
-healthcare necessities lost in fires
They’ve always been more than willing to help others in need and be there for their family and friends! So we want to share the same love and support with them. Please consider donating, if you can, to help them get back in their feet, replace their lost items, find hope in a new beginning, and get the basic necessities they need.
Any contribution, no matter how small, will go a long way toward giving them some peace of mind and a chance to start over.
On behalf of my Aunt and Uncle, I thank you deeply for your generosity and kindness during this difficult time. We appreciate all the love and support!
With gratitude,
The Talosig family
