On behalf of my brother Andrew, and his wife, LaRessa, we are requesting any financial assistance following their tragedy last night:

Please Help Andrew & LaRessa Rebuild After Their House Fire

On October 30, 2025, while LaRessa and I were sitting in an Austin ISD board meeting, a fire destroyed my home. By the time I arrived, everything was gone. I’m heartbroken to share that all three of our cats—Chat, Oliver, and Santi—died in the fire (two were LaRessa’s and one was mine). I am immensely grateful that my husky, Lyra, survived.

I have nothing left beyond the clothes and shoes I was wearing. My wife, LaRessa, was visiting and also lost many of her belongings. My entire home library of 1,000+ books and irreplaceable family artifacts were lost.

Thankfully, we do have a temporary place to stay (LaRessa’s apartment) while we figure out the next steps. We were not financially prepared for devastation on this scale, and we're asking for help—any amount—as we work to stabilize and rebuild.

How your gift will be used immediately for the following:

    •    Temporary housing and essentials (clothes, toiletries, basic furniture)

    •    Work and communication basics

    •    Food

    •    Insurance gaps and the deductible

    •    Storage and cleanup-related expenses as needed

    •    Replacing essentials that LaRessa also lost in the fire
