On Sunday, November 9th, on their way to church, an Amish buggy was struck from behind by an inattentive driver on Rock County N near Whitewater, WI. The driver of the buggy and his young nephew were ejected from the buggy upon impact. They sustained what were labeled “minor” physical injuries (stitches, bumps, bruises, and a brain bleed). This family is new to the area and some of the nicest people I’ve met. Although no human life was lost, they are greatly affected by what happened financially and emotionally. They lost their brand new $20,000 buggy and their beautiful Friesian crossbred mare, Kya, as well as accrued some hefty medical bills. Unfortunately, the driver that hit them was uninsured, so this leaves them with a big financial burden. We have a few local donation/fundraising opportunities in place as well, but I wanted to add an additional platform for those that wish to help but are not able to contribute in that way. Since the family is Amish and do not use technology, I have set this up on their behalf and will deliver the funds to them in person when our goal is reached. 100% of donations will go to the family to cover medical bills and replace their horse and buggy. Please consider helping. Anyone, anywhere can click a few buttons online to help someone in need!
*Note: The recipient of the funds are my Amish neighbors, the Yoder family. Since they are Amish and do not use technology, I set this up for them as a way for people to donate electronically and I will be the one to distribute the funds to them in person. The donation will be used to replace the horse and buggy they lost during the accident as well as help cover their medical bills from hospitalization after the accident.
