My name is Kaylha, and on Friday, July 4th, at 2 am, my hometown of Kerrville, TX, got hit by one of the biggest storms I have ever seen. The Guadalupe River runs through our town, and we got 24 feet of water from a torrential downpour of rain in a very short amount of time.
By the Grace of God, my family and I are okay and alive. However, my father lost his home and everything he owned. He lived in an RV park, and the water completely engulfed and washed away every single RV and cabin in that park and everywhere in town. He was able to get out with the clothes he was wearing, grabbed his wallet and dog, and got out to his car before they were engulfed.
While trying to get out, all he could hear were the screams of people asking for help and seeing people climb trees to try to survive. He was able to rescue an elderly neighbor, but that was it; the water was rising too fast. As of right now, 24 hours later, there are 24 fatalities, an unknown number of missing people—the number keeps rising by the minute—and 25 young girls missing from a summer camp.
So, please help me raise money for him so he can get a place to live and start rebuilding his life again as he was left with nothing. We would love to help other people as well who were affected by this. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and God bless.
