Help Rebuild Our Daycare After Hurricane Melissa

Hello everyone, some of you may know me, but for those who do not, my name is Mahalia E. I am currently residing in the US, but my family is back home in Jamaica, and they were greatly impacted by Hurricane Melissa in many different ways. I am conducting this fundraiser on behalf of my family to help ease some of the financial burden this disaster has caused.

Our hearts are broken. Hurricane Melissa has devastated our community here in Granville, Montego Bay, Jamaica — and our beloved daycare was completely destroyed.

This daycare wasn’t just a building. It was a second home for our children — a safe, loving place where they could learn, play, and dream. Every day was filled with laughter, story time, and the joy of growing together. Now, all that remains are the memories and the hope that we can rebuild.

Right now, our children have nowhere to go. Families who depended on us for care and stability are struggling. But we believe that with your kindness and support, we can bring this vital space back to life.

We are hoping to raise $20,000 USD to:

Reroof and repair the damaged building

Replace furniture, toys, and learning materials

Renovate the inside to create a bright, safe, and welcoming space once again
