Help Rebuild Dreams: Bring jobs to local WNC artists that were affected by Hurricane Helene by Supporting this Community Film Project in Western North Carolina.
Hi, I’m Casey Puhr, a writer and director deeply connected to the creative spirit of Western North Carolina. I'm reaching out today to share a project that is close to my heart—one that seeks to uplift the very community that has faced unimaginable loss.
In the wake of Hurricane Helene, many artists and creators in WNC have had their lives turned upside down. Floodwaters have ravaged their homes, destroyed their belongings, and wiped out studios that were once places of creation and hope. These artists have lost more than just material possessions—they’ve lost the very tools and spaces that allowed them to express themselves and build their futures.
But from this devastation, we see the power of community. Our upcoming film project, centered on personal growth through the support of those around us, will showcase the resilience of this incredible area. The film’s story reflects what so many in WNC are experiencing: that through adversity, we grow stronger when we come together.
This is more than just a film. It’s a way to provide tangible work opportunities for local artists—actors, painters, musicians, technicians, and more—who have been affected by the disaster. Every donation will directly support local artists by bringing them work in their creative fields.
Together, we can create a film that celebrates the strength of community, and at the same time, offer these artists the opportunity to rise again. Please join me in making this project a reality. Your support will not only help bring a story to life, but it will also help rebuild the lives of those who make Western North Carolina such a special place.
Thank you for your generosity and belief in the power of art and community.
