Coffee Waves Port Aransas is more than a local coffee shop or business; it's a gathering hub for the Port Aransas community and those that enjoy visiting. Owners, David and Amber Bendett started CWPA with a passion to see people in the area connect, be inspired and experience incredible coffee and gelato. When Hurricane Harvey hit the Coastal Bend recently, they came back to a seaweed, mud and debris-filled shop. Their freezer was found on the other side of the street. The thing is that for most businesses, the landlord purchases windstorm and flooding insurance, but the businesses that rent the space do not purchase it for the expensive equipment and interior of the building. This was the case for Coffee Waves Port Aransas. The entrance door flew off in the storm and everything inside was affected. It was devastating. Friends, family and shop employees rallied around them to clear out the mess and get the shop to a place where they can restore and bring it back. There's a long way to go and the Bendetts have full faith that God is going to provide, especially for all of their employees.
