Hi, I’m Melissa from Denver, Colorado. I’m raising funds for my friend, Chris, who is living through the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Helene. Chris has spent the last five years building his small farm, pouring in thousands of dollars and countless hours to make his dream a reality.

Just two nights ago, he woke up at 2am to see his farm literally ripped apart by the storm. When daylight came, he found that 50% of his forest was gone, his chicken coop was destroyed, fruit trees were lost, garden beds were wrecked, and his property bridge had been crushed by fallen trees—along with so much more damage.

Despite this immense personal loss, Chris has continued to serve his community. Over the past couple of days, he’s been conducting welfare checks as a local volunteer firefighter. And when he returns home, he’s still taking care of his livestock—his horse Javier, two goats, pigs, ducks, turkeys, guineas, and his two beloved pet dogs.

The funds raised will go directly to helping Chris rebuild his farm, repair damaged structures, and support the ongoing care of his animals. Every contribution will help him regain the momentum he’s worked so hard for and allow him to rebuild the livelihood he was creating.

I’m currently managing this GoFundMe on Chris’s behalf, as he’s experiencing a power outage and has limited access to the internet.
